Skyfire Browser – What Is Coming In The Next Version!

Posted by Divyang on September 11, 2008

What Is Coming In The Next Version, A recap of what has been mentioned as upcoming

1) Minimizing the need for zooming in the first place. Allow users to interact more with the webpage thumbnail (read headings, click on links, etc.)

2) Improve content loading speed and intelligence. Skyfire will anticipate what you’re trying to view, and then prioritize its loading sequence accordingly – resulting in less waiting and less of those dreadful checkerboards.

3) basic features like download support and cut and paste will be included in our next release.

4) Cursor snapping and tracking on non-touchscreens when the zoom level is less than 100%

5) Bookmark management will make it into the next release.

6) We will be gradually adding contextual options for webpages, links, images and so forth — akin to the “right click” menu (Save as, properties, ‘copy/paste, etc) that desktop browsers have.

7) The option to set skyfire as your default browser will be in the next release.

8) Users will be able to visit a mobile version of a website when one is detected in our next release. Advanced settings related to this feature (managing mobile site preferences) will be in a subsequent release.
Further Clarified:
The user is simply presented with a link to the mobile version. It is their choice to use it or not. Full versions of websites will always be displayed by default.

9) The next version will have an auto-reconnect feature.

Stay tuned for more..!
