WalkingHotSpot turn your 3G/Wi-Fi based phone into a Wireless Wi-Fi Router/Hotspot

TapRoot Systems has introduced a new software called WalkingHotSpot that can effectively turn your 3G/Wi-Fi based Windows Mobile, Nokia S60 or Sony Ericsson UIQ mobile phone into a Wireless Wi-Fi Router/Hotspot so that you can share its high-speed internet connection with any other clients such as desktops, laptops, gaming consoles or portable media players. Readers may recall that a freeware version of a similiar software called JoikuSpot is already available for Nokia S60 smartphones.
WalkingHotSpot will support any flavor of mobile broadband. However only phones based on HSDPA/UMTS (such as AT&T Wireless’ high-speed service) will be able to support WalkingHotSpot Wi-Fi service and voice calls simultaneously. Those based on EVDO (used by Sprint and Verizon Wireless) cannot handle voice and data connections at the same time. If a call came in while you were downloading a file through a WalkingHotSpot Wi-Fi connection, the download would be interrupted.
A free demo version will be available for individuals to download from TapRoot’s Web site which will only support one Wi-Fi connection at a time. The full-featured product (which supports multiple simultaneous Wi-Fi connections) will be sold directly to mobile carriers who in turn can sell it to end consumers as a paid service.
